Mike Peterson, owner of Chasing the Gold Kennel, and I purchased Chase as a puppy. We both agreed his pedigree should be an excellent outcross and pairing for our bloodlines and our goal of producing the All-Around Gundog.
We love what Chase has shown us so far. He is a relaxed easy going labrador in the house and gets along great with all other dogs, kids, people etc. Your typical nice labrador. Chase is a stable, smart minded dog that makes an outstanding family pet, but won't quit attitude for hunting, retrieving and training. Chase exemplifies the wanting to please you attitude (just show me what you want and I will do it to the best of my abilities). Which in turn, makes for the dog that trains quicker and easier and more pleasurable to be around. These are important traits to have in our breeding stock and should be sought after by all breeders, trainers and owners. When we breed Chase with our bloodlines we expect to produce that exceptional hunting and family dog you have come to expect from Cashman Kennels.
Chase guided in the upland fields, at a lodge in South Dakota, for six weeks at fourteen months old. He impressed us with his natural quartering and intense bird drive, great nose and marking skills. Those skills also helped him obtain his AKC Senior Title in the Summer of 2023, before he turned two years old. We are looking forward to next year's Master hunt tests with Chase. He is ready to roll now, but Mike moves on in August, to upland training at his Kennel.
