Mike Peterson, owner of Chasing the Gold Kennel, and I purchased Chase as a puppy. We both agreed his pedigree should be an excellent outcross and pairing for our bloodlines and our goal of producing the "All-Around Gundog".

Chase guided in the upland fields, at a lodge in South Dakota, for six weeks at fourteen months old. He impressed us with his natural quartering and intense bird drive, great nose and marking skills. Those skills also helped him obtain, at a young age his, AKC Senior Title in 2023, and Master Title in 2024.

We love what Chase has shown us so far. He is a relaxed easy going labrador in the house and gets along great with all other dogs, kids, people etc. What we have come to expect from your typical nice Labrador Retriever. Chase is a stable, smart minded dog that makes an outstanding family pet, but won't quit attitude for hunting, retrieving and training. Chase exemplifies the wanting to please you attitude (just show me what you want and I will do it to the best of my abilities). Which in turn, makes for the dog that trains quicker and easier and more pleasurable to be around. These are important traits to have in our breeding stock and should be sought after by all breeders, trainers and owners. Chase has been breeding since the fall of 2023, and we are not surprised to hear from the breeders and owners that his puppies are a lot like him. Chase began consistently pointing pheasants, in the fall of 2024. Without a doubt, Chase is a natural pointing lab. I would consider him a late bloomer, but that could be due to him hunting mostly in large upland groups with many flushing dogs his first two seasons.
