While it can not be said that Raider founded the breed of the Pointing Labrador, it can be argued convincingly that he contributed greatly to the development of the pointing lab as we know it today. This is not only because of his titles or what he individually accomplished, it's because he was genetically equipped to produce puppies like himself on a consistent basis. Without the support from the Labrador breeders his attributes would have never been recognized. We would like to say "thank you" to all of you that helped build the Raider legacy.
Raider was a one of a kind Labrador that produced many offspring that achieved the highest titles/honors in APLA, NAHRA, AKC Hunt Tests, Agility and upland competitions. He was an outstanding hunter, competitor, companion, and producer of puppies that touched so many people. We are fortunate to have co-owned such an exceptional Labrador.
Raider's accomplishments include: Five for five consecutive qualifications in 1997 to earn his AKC Senior Title; Five for five consecutive qualifications in 1998 to earn his AKC Master Title; Five for six consecutive qualifications in 1998 to earn his NAHRA Master Title; APLA Grand Master Pointing Lab Title; 2001 US Open Pheasant Champion; Numerous 1st and 2nd placements in state and local upland competitions. Raider was also one of the first six pointing labs inducted to the APLA Hall of Fame in 2011.
He was always a relentless hunter that gave 100 percent no matter what the hunting or training conditions were or whom he was partnered with. He was a superior upland and water dog who was hunted extensively on ducks and pheasants. He was notable for passing on his intense retrieving, bird desire, perseverance, unsurpassed training attitude, quick learning skills, and natural pointing abilities. Raider also had an unbeatable temperament.
