G.K. Simpson and Byron Haygood (B. Good) are two ex-dog breeders who take viewers into a world where money talks and pit bulls are the currency, and the media perpetuate many of the stereotypes maligning this misunderstood breed. In their search for solutions to the plight of the pit bull, B. Good and G.K. meet with shelter officials, rescue groups, breeders, dog fighters, and everyday people on the street. Mercy's Kennel is a story about redemption and salvation that transcends race, culture, and economics. The documentary presents a compelling look at the unique challenges facing pit bulls in an increasingly hostile world, and the men and women who will do almost anything to save them.
Mercy's Kennel is being produced by HoodPuppy Productions with the cooperation of DeKalb County Animal Services, The Humane Society of the United States, LifeLine Animal Project, and animal advocacy groups throughout Atlanta, Georgia.
